NiMH Rechargeable Battery Pack Usage

Pelican Products takes customer safety and product quality very seriously. As such, Pelican Products will, from time to time, provide updates to instructions or warnings provided with its products. Along those lines, NOTE that Pelican has updated the battery safety page (https://www.pelican.com/us/en/support/flashlight-battery-safety/ ) on its website and on instruction sheets provided with new flashlights.

Specifically, for rechargeable flashlights we have added the following information and warning about the applicable/required replacement period for Nickel Metal Hydride (“NiMH”) rechargeable battery packs:

WARNING:

DO NOT use NiMH rechargeable battery packs for longer than 3 years or 500 charge/discharge cycles, whichever comes first. Using the NiMH rechargeable battery packs for longer than 3 years or 500 charge/discharge cycles will reduce the performance of the flashlight and expose the user to serious injury or property damage.

The following flashlights are affected:

Please use this Technical Bulletin to inform customers using Pelican NiMH rechargeable batteries that if they have been using the batteries for more than 3 years or 500 charge/discharge cycles that they need to replace the battery packs.
